2024 M&A RECAP IN IMAP AND ALBIA FOR AITOR CAYERO

In 2024, IMAP dealmakers continued to leverage on our international reach, and one-third of the 252 transactions our partnership completed were cross-border.
Technology, Industrials, Consumer & Retail and Business Services were the top industries where cross border transactions were completed, with almost 50% of cross-border deals completed within these sectors.
Here in Spain, two thirds of our transactions completed by ALBIA IMAP were cross-border in 2024.
In particular, I´d like to highlight three of the cross-border transactions we completed:
- Jointly with our Danish partners at Dealhaus, we advised Presto on acquiring Eurofesa, a company involved in the area of fire safety,
- ALBIA IMAP also advised Kardham on acquiring 78, their second acquisition in Spain, after having advised their first acquisition in Spain back in 2022. Both transactions were in the area of Design and Build,
- We also advised the shareholders of Frimarte, an industrial refrigeration specialist, on their sale to Veolia.

For 2025, we expect inbound cross-border activity to continue very strong, supported by Spain’s current favorable macro dynamics, and many many industries with still very fragmented supply structures that favor buy&build strategies for pan-european strategics and Private Equity.
