FRESH FOOD SUMMIT – FRUIT ATTRACTION

Last Wednesday, our colleagues Pablo Gómez Hidalgo de Cisneros, partner at ALBIA, and César Claver, associate, attended the Fruit Attraction fair held in Madrid. Both participated in the Fresh Food Logistics Summit.

Pablo and César have extensive knowledge of the Transport and Logistics sector, having been involved in various national and international transactions.

Some insights we can share:

  • Cold chain logistics is a crucial and essential element of the supply chain for the growth of the agri-food and pharmaceutical industries, and it is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.
  • Consumer habits, e-commerce, and the pharmaceutical industry will be key drivers of this growth.
  • Spain is considered the garden of Europe, exporting a large amount of fresh produce to other countries, mainly within the European Union, where temperature-controlled road transport is essential.

This activity requires constant investment to ensure service meets the required quality standards. To maintain the sector’s competitiveness, we expect the ongoing consolidation process through mergers and acquisitions in Spain to continue over the coming years.
